I can always use a little insight. Thank you for this site.

  • Julie – can’t we all?? We’re learning tons of stuff right along with our new readers. Okay – so we get to read the posts a little earlier than you guys, but still…

We hope you’ll continue to join us at RU in the coming weeks!

  • Could you tell me if the classes are free

    Melinda

  • TraceyDevlyn says:

    Hi Melinda!

    Yes, all classes are free.

  • Dana Wright says:

Love this site. A friend told me about it. We are both writing YA, but there are tons of things that would be helpful. :)

  • So glad you like it, Dana. We’re hoping to appeal to writers in all genres, but the RU name was too good to pass up! Please let us know if you’d like to see a specific topic covered here.

  • Thanks so much for this site –
You have some great classes lined up!
    Can’t wait -
    :)

Thanks, Genella. Let us know if there is a specific topic you would like to see. We’re open to ideas!

  • Shannon says:

Thanks for this great site. I can’t remember how I linked into it, but I sure am glad I did!
Really looking forward to your future lectures as well as combing through the back ones.

I found this site on CLUES-N-NEWS. Lots of good stuff. The Anatomy of a Male Mind looks like it will be a good resource for me.
    Thanks! Gail

  • Shannon and Gail, thanks so much for stopping by. Please let us know if you have any questions.

  • Great line up, can’t wait for the next class. Now that something I never said when I was in college. RU is a great!

  • Hi, I find this site very interesting as I embark on my first book. Other than doing a dissertation, I have no experience in writing. I am in the process of collecting data on sexual preferences as I am a sex therapist and then analyzing it against the demographics. It should be a lot of rich data. Is there anything coming up that you think would be particularly helpful to me? I do not know how I will go about publishing this yet either…thanks for the feedback!

      Hi John,

I’m so glad you’re finding RU interesting. My blogmate Kelsey Browning worked with our Man Panel to learn more about their preferences regarding women and a whole lot more. The first installment aired Nov 25 and the next one posts tomorrow (12/9).

You can also follow this link http://romanceuniversity.org/tag/anatomy-of-the-male-mind/ to see the wide array of topics we’ve already covered.

On January 9, we’ll have a special guest discussing what men want from marriage. We’re working on additional topics for 2010.

If there’s a topic you’d like for us to explore, feel free to email any one of us.

Good luck on your book! Keep us posted.

      Tracey

    • John -

I would encourage you to find some good resources on writing a non-fiction proposal. If you need suggestions, please let us know and we can probably dig around a little for you!

      Best of luck,
      Kelsey

  • Adrienne Giordano says:

Hi, John. Just chiming in with the ladies here. We also have some great lectures on plotting and turning points. C.J. Lyons did a wonderful lecture on turning points, Tracey Montoya did one on three act structure and Sue Viders and Becky Martinez did one on the Plotting Wheel. There are some helpful editing lectures as well.

Best of luck! Let us know how you are doing.

  • I stumbled onto RU from a fellow writer on facebook. You have alot of classes I want to take but I do not see times. Where are the lectures posted?

    • Jennie -

Lectures are done as blog posts, normally MWF with some TTh posts. Mondays are “Crafting Your Career,” Wednesdays are “Anatomy of the Male Mind,” and Fridays are “Chaos Theory of Writing.”

Please let us know if you have more questions!
      Kelsey
