Line Editing Series

Would you like your first two manuscript pages checked by a professional editor for awkward phrasing, repetition or stilted dialogue?  Romance University can help.

Beginning in January 2012, Theresa Stevens, Publisher of STAR Guides Publishing and Gina Bernal, Carina Press editor, will line edit the first two pages of a reader-submitted manuscript.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to have your pages reviewed by a top-notch editor. To be eligible, send your first two pages to adrienne@romanceuniversity.org. Adrienne will forward them to one of our editors. If your pages are chosen, please be aware that the pages, along with editor suggestions and comments, will be posted on our website for educational purposes.

The line editing posts will run on the following dates:

January 20 – Theresa Stevens

March 2 – Gina Bernal

April 20 – Theresa Stevens

May 11 – Gina Bernal

June 15 – Theresa Stevens

Ask An Editor

Theresa Stevens, Publisher of STAR Guides Publishing and founder of Edittorrent, joins Romance University on the third Friday of every month to answer questions about the world of publishing and writing craft. Craft and Query Writing 101

Urban Fantasy author C.J. Redwine will offer tips on the craft of writing or critique one lucky reader’s query letter on the first Monday of each month. Readers should send their craft questions to QueryWriting101@RomanceUniversity.org. When submitting a query letter, include the query in the body of the email. If your query letter is chosen, please be aware that it, along with C.J.’s critique, will be posted on our website for educational purposes.
