A: There are several good Tamiya browns – Linoleum Brown, NATO Brown, Flat Brown, Red Brown… you might as well forget Red Brown 2 – it is just one ugly color. It might work on a dirorama for painting dirt as a base coat. I like the AK Real Colors German shades pretty well too. I tinker with them a little but they are decent.

I found a post somewhere in which someone said they used Tamiya XF-22 for a WWII German Field Grey, and of course when I look for RLM colors, there is no Tamiya recommendation.

A: Tamiya is great for airbrushing, spraying very easily and consistently and with a dead flat finish (matte colors). Its not the best for brush painting however.
