A: AM3+ is an upgraded version of the AM3 socket; it became available in mid-2011. CPUs that use AMD Bulldozer micro-architecture are easily compatible with AM3 processors and have specially designed AM3+ sockets. Additionally, this is also compatible with the piledriver architecture.
